The Colton Motel is the last independent motel in the borough limits of Gettysburg. We are 0.8 tenths of a mile from the very center of downtown and located on hallowed ground at 232 Steinwehr Avenue / Business Route 15 south. We are centrally located on the battlefield with the National Cemetery as the backdrop to the property. The National Visitor Center and the High Water Mark of the battle fought here so many years ago are just a few hundred yards to our south with most of the Museums, Restaurants, Shops and Sidewalk Vendors just a short walk from our great location. Our helpful staff will make suggestions as well as recommendations on events and attractions within the surrounding region, such as, a tour of Washington D.C. a horse-drawn Carriage tour of the town, the battlefield or even The Gettysburg Battlefield Bus tour. The Colton Motel staff will make reservations for your party with your pick up right at our front door. Your arrival date and time are mandatory so as to better serve your accommodations and touring needs. We can accommodate almost any size family, small group or reunions with our family suites. We offer special weekly rates during the OFF SEASON, which is from mid November to mid April. Sorry, there are NO SATURDAY ONLY RESERVATIONS accepted from mid April to mid November. Remember exploring history is living history in Americas Hometown your home away from home. The Colton Motel and its staff look forward to making your visit as memorable and comfortable as possible. A select group of quality tours are available for both the battlefield and our town; there are bus tours, drive your own car auto tape/CD tour, a guide to ride with you, or the walking tour. We have 10 Civil War related museums, an authentic Civil War house tour, and a walking haunted ghost tour at night. When you've had enough of history, enjoy fun things like a cool train ride through the beautiful countryside, play a game of golf at one of our golf courses, or attend special events and festivals that are taking place throughout the year.
